Our client, a large multi-national corporation in the financial industry, approached us with the brief to come up with their Belfast Christmas Party with a difference.
They had previously always stuck to the traditional route of a formal three course dinner in a Banquet hall, followed by some good ol’ fashioned entertainment.
Side note – don’t get us wrong, we’re not dissing this! Sometimes you can’t beat a bit of ‘Dancing Queen’ or ‘Footloose’ on the dancefloor with Shirley from HR!
Anyway, as much as they had loved that in the past, they were ready for a change.
The client said their team was so much more diverse these days, with people from many different age groups and cultural backgrounds there was just so many people to try and please!
The younger workers they said, just didn’t react well to the traditional style events and the long term employers or older generations felt that over the years they had just been to enough of them.
Because of this, people shied away from being involved in the organising – I mean who wants to be responsible for an event no one wants to go to??? Uh-Uh!!
All in all, they needed a fresh idea that would appeal to more of their staff.
What We Did
So, we Bit Of A Do elves put our party hats on and got to work!
Following in depth discussions and brainstorming using crackers, party poppers and tinsel – our event planners came up with a series of options.
All sorts of wild and wonderfully festive parties were laid out for the client;
From private Rock concerts to a glittering Oscars night (complete with staff awards!!) were all discussed but in the end, the client opted for their very own Private Nightclub in our amazing Alpine Ski Lodge Pop up – Aprés!
Situated on the exclusive top floor of Alibi, one of Belfast’s premier Nightlife destinations, was a fantastic space which had been transformed into Aprés; an amazing winter ski lodge, complete with fireside seating areas, alpine bar, private outside terrace and facilities.
It was the perfect fit for what the client wanted to achieve. A great night out to celebrate the years work and reward the staff!
Guests were welcomed with Glasses of Prosecco, Wine and Bottles of Beer on arrival.
Just the ticket to get everyone in the party mood!
They mingled with each other and enjoyed some live music before they were served a selection of delicious Party finger food.
And what a feast they had to pick from, staff circulated with platters full of finger licking delights such as Gin & Tonic Battered Fish & Chip Cones, Posh Dogs with a sticky BBQ Marinade, Lamb Koftas with Raita and Bite sized Steak Burgers.
It was just what the partygoers needed to fuel them up for a night of dancing into the wee hours.
Once the revellers were suitably stuffed, they had an ‘Access All Areas’ pass to the rest of Alibi.
This meant that they could come and go as they please from their private Alpine haven and go downstairs to the Nightclub and perhaps throw some shapes on the dancefloor or watch the incredible performances by the Fireangels.
Or perhaps even venture one floor further to the Bar where they could imbibe the mouthwatering Cocktails crafted by the in-house mixologists. The evening really gave them all any partygoer could ask for!
All in all it was a job well done, everyone had a fantastic time!
The client was over the moon with the attendance from their staff, the organisers were delighted with the feedback from their co-workers and bosses alike and we little Bit Of A Do elves were just happy to help! ?
